Purpose of the Role

* Develop and implement the Sales strategy in line with the organization’s corporate guidelines and financial objectives.
* Lead the Marketing and Panalpina’s branding activities, to ensure that it is position effectively in the Panamanian market.

Key Tasks

* Coordinate with the Country Manager and Regional Head of Marketing and Sales, the implementation of Panalpina’s global strategy.
* Organize activities of all Sales functions (Sales Representatives, Sales Support, Sales Controlling, Control Towers). It includes: hire, fire, train, discipline, lead and guide the team, in junction with the Country Head of Human Resources and approved by the Country Manager.
* Ensure proper distribution of roles and responsibilities within the sales team, so all market segments are adequately covered.
* Design, implement and enforce the goals of each Sales Representative, regarding volume and gross profit, in close coordination with the Head of Products and the Country Manager.
* Ensure early and accurate identification of business opportunities (and their respective cycle) within the Sales Representative’s, Sales Support’s and his own Customer Base.
* Manage the organization’s technological tools for proper control of commercial activities (CRM, Panorama, Business Warehouse and others that can be implemented in the future).
* Assume the role of Sponsor for special accounts in accordance with Management Team.
* Manage a Customer Base of special accounts, assigned by the Country Manager.
* Create and distribute relevant reports for the assigned tasks.

*Might be needed to assume the role of trainer in any of the modules or stages of induction of new colleagues.

* Partial according to Approval Matrix, to assume costs, services or productivity levels below the sales goals.
* Total to organize and distribute workloads in the Sales Team.
* Total to assign specific roles within the Sales Team.
* Total for access and management of information needed to create reports

Educational background / Work experience

IT knowledge

* Good knowledge of Microsoft(R) Office Software (Excel(R), Word, PowerPoint(R) and others)
* Profound knowledge of Customer Relationship Management tools
* Good knowledge of SAP(R) or other ERP systems especially as it relates to reporting and analysis
