As a member of Grainger’s Global Controllership team, the Senior Analyst will report to the Program Manager, Global Controllership Policy & Processes. The role will work closely with Controllership teams across Grainger’s business units to provide support and drive improvements related to BlackLine. BlackLine is a globally deployed cloud-based solution to automate, facilitate and control the financial close process. The Program Manager will be responsible for system maintenance and support, as well as driving best practices and standardization in BlackLine utilization in supporting key Controllership processes. The role will also engage in the implementation of other improvements within Grainger’s Controllership processes, controls, systems and reporting capabilities across the enterprise.
BlackLine
As a BlackLine system administrator, complete BlackLine support activities, including user support, system maintenance, data management, and other operational activities supporting the financial close process within the tool.
Execute and oversee BlackLine system controls, including application controls and IT general Controls to ensure compliance with SOx.
Drive best practices and enhancements in the utilization of available BlackLine functionality, including standardization, automation and other areas of continuous improvement.
Utilizing BlackLine functionality, proactively monitor and report on global compliance with financial close requirements and metrics for timeliness, accuracy, and efficiency. In partnership with Business Units leaders develop action plans to drive improvements.
Proactively monitor global adherence to the Financial Policy Manual in the execution of the financial close activities and monitor documentation standards within BlackLine for compliance with Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR). Provide timely and relevant feedback to the Business Units’ Accounting teams and drive action plans for improvements.
Global Controllership Processes
Support optimization and improvement initiatives for Controllership processes across the enterprise to achieve productivity objectives, including streamlining closing and reporting cycles, and supporting Controllership efforts to drive efficiency improvements while maintaining strong internal controls.
Proactively highlight opportunities for process improvements and recommend/prioritize them for re-design, standardization, automation, and centralization.
Drive continuous improvement by automating, refining, and implementing processes and tools within the Controllership team.
Execute special projects and support ad hoc requests and analysis within the Global Controllership team.
Facilitate discussions and build effective partnerships with Business Units leaders, BlackLine users globally and corporate support functions.

Requisitos
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
3 + years in years of experience in accounting and/or audit
Thorough understanding of financial internal controls and risks, including strong knowledge of ICFR is required
Strong analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to develop partnerships and work with others to accomplish objectives and results
Ability to work in cross-functional teams, influence others and build consensus
Excellent written, interpersonal communication and presentation skills
Self-starter and able to independently execute projects cross-functionally
Agility and flexibility to operate in a dynamic and fast-paced organization

Proficiency in computer applications, advanced Excel. Knowledge of BlackLine or similar tools and reporting tools such as Tableau, a plus. Experience with systems such as SAP and BPC, preferred.
