Job Description :
Purpose

The Demand Planning Analyst position is responsible for all SAP APO monthly and weekly forecasting activities. The Analyst will work with the Central Statistical Team to ensure we create and maintain a ‘best fit’ baseline forecast model to support the monthly S&OP process for DR and FTZ&BD. He/she will do history adjustments, load forecast building blocks in APO after each S&OP meeting and document assumptions, He/she will own and drive forecast accuracy performance to achieve the agreed targets. He/she will also play a key role in the S&OP process, ensuring the Activity Review happens in time, with the correct reports, data and people.

The Demand Planning Analyst is the key contact person with the supply sites for forecast submission and accuracy plus responsible for explanation of all deviations, and will support the customer collaboration agenda within the region. It is also responsible for the inventory in transit from plants into the markets.

Decision Making

Responsible for SAP APO management:
Ensures the forecast in APO is always up-to-date, including statistical baseline, building blocks and innovation forecast
Generate baseline 24 month statistical forecast which includes re-design and innovation products
Conduct root cause analysis to identify drivers of error and work together with Planning team to take corrective action to drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy and bias performance
Maintain master data parameters that include but are not limited to CVC creation, disaggregation factors and product attributes
Analyze forecast exceptions utilizing the suite of BW reporting tools which include but are not limited to the following:Data Integrity
Sales Tracker
Forecast Effectiveness and Stability

Responsible for Inventory Value estimations
Estimate shipping forecast based on demand forecast
Understand the impact of different movements and event across the supply chain on the shipment forecast and inventory value

Financial Responsibility

The Demand Planning Analyst owns the forecast accuracy metric which will influence the finished good inventory and safety stock levels to drive customer service targets defined by the market.

This role knows and understands the financial implications of controlling inventory planning to consistently deliver great performance to our customers in line with Diageo’s ambition. Works closely with the regional Hub Warehouse to support the inventory plan to reduce out of stocks and minimize SLOBs quantity. And is responsible for the inventory in transit from plants to the markets.

Management Responsibility

Although this role do not have direct reports, the incumbent is required to interact and influence various stakeholders in the organization in order to achieve the targets.

Participates in all monthly S&OP sessions to understand market drivers that could potentially impact the forecast

Complexity of the Role

Strong knowledge of statistical forecasting methodologies
Use of KPI metrics to influence stakeholders to improve the planning process
Constant interaction with Senior Stakeholders
Wide geographic scope
Small to large 3P Distributors with market specific labels driving large SKU management
Collaborate stock builds during the half year periods
Two very different Business Units: large 3P Distributor market and FTZ/Border customers volatility

Key Outputs/Deliverables

Review historical shipment and depletion trends; summarize and provide insight to the Demand & Supply Planning Manager to support the monthly S&OP process
Generate baseline 24 month statistical forecast
Provide statistical input to the Annual Operation Planning (AOP) process; challenge the Finance AOP projected growth assumptions based on historical trends, as necessary
Support Panama Customer Service on issues resolution and when needed on order allocation
Generate monthly KPIs and key reports to business stakeholders
Performance measurement by monthly KPIs: Sales Forecast Accuracy, S&OP Adherence, Inventory Value, SLOBs and CFR
Support the Customer Collaboration Agenda

Qualifications and Experience Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Operations / Supply Chain Management or related business discipline
1 to 3+’ years experience working within the Demand Planning process; CPG Industry preferred
Demonstrated proficiency in statistics and/or forecasting methodologies with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts
Baseline SAP APO system and Business Intelligence/BW Reporting skills required
Strong analytical, organizational and decision making skills, to support this a developing proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required
Baseline understanding of the end-to-end Supply Chain Planning processes; Supply Planning, Distribution Requirements Planning, Inventory Planning, Conversion, Logistics, Procurement and Customer Service
