"Job description: Purpose Manage all the required and suggested actions of the control systems of the port operational areas, including DCS and PLCs. Manage and control licenses, backups, updates, improvements and assistance from manufacturers and / or contractors related to the control systems to guarantee their functionality, redundancy and availability. Ensure the proper functioning of the Emerson Ovation control system simulator, keeping it updated according to the operating process. Assist and lead DCS maintenance engineers and instrumentalists in daily activities and projects when designated by their supervisor. Act as an analyst, developer, executor of changes (based on the current procedure). Lead the DCS maintenance engineers and instrument technicians when assigned or in the absence of the responsible supervisor. Key Accountabilities and Challenges The Power Plant Maintenance DCS Control Engineer will report to the Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Supervisor. Power Plant Maintenance DCS Control Engineer duties and responsibilities will include the following: Reviewing operational parameters & instituting control changes to optimise the plant operation Identify & analyse design changes & modify design drawings & documents accordingly. Monitoring performance of equipment during normal operation. Help troubleshoot issues on equipment during operation Ensuring the scope of work, procedures and schedules are adhered to. Resolving and responding to technical queries required to control the plant. Work with the authorities to ensure we have proper hand over packages for them ( Insurance ) Participation in Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) of instrumentation/protection control packages as necessary. Ensuring the equipment preventive maintenance program is implemented & meets operational requirements During the start-up phases after outages, assist in ensuring that technical standards and specifications are complied with. Perform all duties assigned in a safe and professional manner. Be guided in all work by the precept that safety of personnel and equipment is a top corporate priority. Attend and contribute to site and project technical meetings as necessary. Assist in Mechanical Completion and handover documentation as necessary. Assist the Management of Change process when required Participating in vendor corrective actions and ensuring resolution of nonconformities. Ensures and audits control and protection systems are adhered to protect the assets of the plant Skills, Knowledge & Experience Education Experience in DCS, Safety Systems (SIS), PLC and packaged equipment control systems and field Instrumentation in Power Plants applications Knowledge and Experience in Power Plant and Coal Fire Boilers operations and commissioning. Experience in managing/coordinating equipment vendors. Conversant with International codes and Standards pertaining to Boiler / Turbine protection eg. NFPA & ASME protection requirements Good communication and organizational skills. Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, scheduling, and work planning programs of some type. Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong ability to work in a ""team"" environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain self-discipline within a stressful environment. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment Experience Emerson Ovation Siemens PCS-7 Rockwell Automation system a plus Language Fluency in English is required and proficiency in Spanish highly regarded.
