To independently perform staff level finance functions to support various financial activities
depending on location and business unit. Provide technical finance expertise and guidance on finance issues.Make business decisions and provides well-developed recommendations. Activities include, but are not limited to,corporate financing, cash management, financial risk management, business risk management, distribution networkfinancial development, trade finance, and developing distribution network financing plans.
JOB DUTIES: The Senior Finance Analyst at a Business Unit is expected to provide technical expertise andguidance to peers as well as recommendations to supervisor on finance issues.
Incumbent will have comprehensive knowledge of Caterpillar’s business and finance policies and practices,systems, processes and procedures. Incumbent will apply finance knowledge to activities and will participate inand/or lead multifunctional teams.
The incumbent will lead projects to conclusion by compiling information, analyzing data, recommending andimplementing solutions and will provide information and analysis used to make and/or influence business decisions.
Typically, projects and decisions will impact medium to high-risk issues.Finance responsibilities are of high complexity including conducting financing alternatives analysis - both corporateand dealer, analyzing financial statements, managing cash assets and bank accounts, executing currency hedginganalysis and trades, conducting business risk management, and supporting trade finance.
The incumbent is capable of handling broader business issues such as delivering presentations to business unitand corporate leadership teams, working with cross-functional disciplines to solve business problems, and usingbusiness acumen to support a broad range of activities.
Incumbent will interface with Caterpillar employees from many disciplines, customers and suppliers throughout theworld.
The Senior Finance Analyst at a Business Unit demonstrates very good communication skills and has acomprehensive knowledge of their business unit, suppliers and customers.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* Degree in finance, business administration or accounting is required.
* Three to five years of finance experience.
* Knowledge of company policies, practices and systems.
* English Advanced.
Desired Qualifications:
* Experience with corporate finance/ credit analysis/ customer finance and relationship.
* Portuguese and Spanish Advanced.
* Knowledge of other business functions.
* Solid project management skills.
Behavioral Skill
* Initiative, leadership, judgment, decision-making and communications skills.
* Ability to work effectively and independently with people at all levels within and outside the department.
* Must have the ability to learn and adapt quickly to a variety of work environments and circumstances.
Important: * Requires extensive travel (25%) Latin America.
