Job description:
Purpose
Reporting to the Supervisor Warehouse, the Lead Stores is responsible to assist with the day to day monitoring and supervision of warehousing activities of a large warehouse operation and to assist in the efficient and timely management of equipment, materials and parts within the warehouse with a key focus on end user satisfaction.
Key Accountabilities and Challenges
Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama.
Strictly comply with HSE procedures and standards in particular a high standard of housekeeping.
Adherence to all FQM Cobre Panama policies and procedures.
Assist with the promotion and implementation of Best Practice policies.
Oversee the real time shift operations and strive to consistently deliver and exceed the main KPI of efficient and timely receipt, managed storage, and issue of warehouse items.
Assist with warehouse staff motivation and morale.
Supervise and perform warehouse activities for goods and materials including (but not limited to) the following:
o Receive and review materials, spare parts and other supplies that enter the warehouse.
o Confirm the items that enter the warehouse are recorded and in the management system.
o Ensure that the items are efficiently warehoused to enable rapid location as required.
o Assist with the location and preparation of picked items for collection.
o Monitor inspect and report on the condition of warehoused items and material
o Undertake regular stocktakes, inventories and audits of warehoused items and materials reporting any irregularities in stock counts or the condition of items.
Operate as required, inspect and report on the condition of equipment used in the warehouse.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the warehouse, wider Commercial team, and all areas of the Operation.
Ensure timely and direct communication with end users.
Undertake nominated training activities to maintain and up-skill required competencies.
Control, report and reduce operational costs, and ensure cost consideration taken with all decisions.
Adopt the FQM Way culture across the business – “Smarter, Bolder, Driven, Together”
Act as deputy for colleagues as required.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Education
Completion of secondary school.
Skills
Good computer skills in MS Office.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ability to work in a "team" environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to undertake the manual duties of the role.
Ability to maintain self-discipline within a stressful environment.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years mine-site or similar industry
Experience with ERP systems, particulary JDEdwards highly regarded.
Language
Fluency in Spanish is required and competency in English highly regarded.

Cobre Panama is a remote site and the position is offered as Residential or BIBO.
Work hours and rosters may vary as required by the business.
