The Fund Administrator is responsible for providing relevant, reliable, timely and accurate financial information in the form of various financial reports to assist management in the process of decision making.
Major duties and responsibilities:
Manage, analyzes, and compiles for specifics funds for current and futures fiscal years.
Review and approve expenses for each project assigned and guarantee the correct use of fund.
Approval use of fund in accordance with the Federal guidance
Review, reconciles and reports fund budget execution of the current year by evaluating data submitted for consistency and anticipates changes for funding requirements.
Prepare reports covering the status of funds, expenses, and obligations, as required by senior leadership within STRI and following policies and standards.
Prepare work paper support for the year-end audits of funds.
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting or related fields.
+2 years of practiced financial experience in private or public sector.
Knowledge of standard accounting and financial principles that are used to analyze financial data and to prepare budgets, documentation and reports.
Experience with all phases of the Federal budget process, including Congressional, Smithsonian and OMB policies, processes, procedures, requirements and regulations, which govern budgeting and financial management activities at the Smithsonian Institution, and are required to formulate Federal and Trust budgets.
Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply complex legislative, policy and regulatory decisions, complex accounting and financial reporting techniques, requirements, and methods for cost analysis and control development budgetary plans, policies, and guidance and to make adjustments to the budget.
Knowledge of ERP systems, highly proficient use of Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to communicate with and relate to a wide range of people fluently in both English and Spanish (reading, writing, conversational) in a multicultural environment.
