With a strategic plan to produce more than 1 million tonnes per annum of copper within five years, the Company is poised to become the largest, widely-held pure-play copper producer and one of the top five copper producers in the world.
Key Accountabilities and Challenges
Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama.
Maintain HSE standards and ensure strict compliance within the process plant control room.
Ensure the availability and budgeted reliability of transformers, substations, equipment and high-voltage power lines, as well as other heavy mine production equipment assigned.
Analyse and control maintenance KPIs such as: Availability, MTBF, MTTR, FFAPM, etc. Generate monthly reports on the performance of these KPIS.
Develop the Top 10/5 for Downtime (for failures) and for Costs, in addition to ensuring that action plans are generated and complied with to avoid recurrence of what was found.
Lead and develop the root cause analysis / fault analysis of the failures that have a great impact on the indicators of transformers, substations, equipment and high voltage power lines, as well as other heavy mine production equipment assigned.
Be responsible for the application and monitoring of improvements / upgrades by OEM or local transformers, substations, equipment and high-voltage power lines, as well as other heavy mine production equipment assigned.
Lead the development of tests of new products / parts that come from the same OEM / Dealer / Strategic Partner ensuring their good performance and acceptance of being favourable. This under authorization of the Maintenance Management and the same OEM.
Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of improvement coordination with Mine Operations and Power Plant regarding events that impact the performance of transformers, substations, equipment and high voltage power lines, as well as other heavy mine production equipment assigned.
Ensure that the maintenance strategies for the transformers, substations, equipment and high voltage power lines assigned are correct, up to date, complete and conform to the operational reality of the mine; These strategies must include compliance with statutory tasks regulated by the country. In a team with execution supervision, carry out constant audits to ensure compliance with these strategies in the field.
Lead and develop improvement projects based on the shortcomings found in maintenance that generate a great impact on the availability and reliability of high voltage transformers, substations, equipment and power lines, as well as other heavy mine production equipment assigned.
Develop engineering solutions for repetitive failures and other problems that adversely affect the operations of high-voltage substations, equipment and power lines, as well as other heavy mine production equipment assigned. These problems include aspects related to capacity, quality, costs and compliance with internal or legal regulations.
It supports the development and implementation of internal processes and procedures in the area of Reliability associated with transformers, substations, equipment and high voltage power lines, as well as other heavy mine production equipment assigned.
Support and ensure compliance with maintenance processes linked to your area, through the use of ERP and other related information systems.
Control, report and reduce operational costs, and ensure cost consideration taken with all decisions.
Implement FQM Way culture in the Control Room team - "Bolder, Smarter, Driven, Together."
Perform any other duties as assigned by Reliability Supervisor.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Education
Electrical, Mechanical-Electrical or related Engineer.
Maintenance Technician of heavy machinery, transformers, substations, equipment and high or medium voltage power lines.
Skills

Experience
Experience in similar positions (high voltage line analyst, service engineer / technical support, etc.) in companies that have high or medium voltage electrical distribution systems.
Experience in maintenance of heavy mine equipment such as electric shovels (P&H 4100XPC, CAT 7495, etc.); front loaders (LT2350, CAT 994, etc.); electric / diesel drills (Pit Vipper 357, 271, CAT MD66401, etc.); electric / mechanical trucks (Liebherr T284, CAT 797-793-777G, Komatsu 980-930E, etc.).
Experience in reliability and / or maintenance execution of electrical systems such as transformers, substations, equipment and high or medium voltage power lines. Minimum 5 years.
Language
Fluency in Spanish is required and proficiency in English highly regarded. A willingness to undertake language training desirable
