Howard Academy seeks a Teacher of History & Social Science to start on February 22, 2021. We are looking for a teacher who exhibits excellence in the classroom, encourages student inquiry and discussion, is committed to students’ development as informed and ethical citizens of the world, and is interested in working collaboratively with colleagues.

Job Responsibilities:
• The primary classroom responsibility will be teaching a variety of courses at different grade levels; versatility and openness to teaching assignments is key.
• The classroom teacher manages the total instructional program; is responsible for making sure that planning, instruction, curriculum and assessment are aligned in order to meet the needs of students both collectively and individually; and is responsible for student academic achievement and growth.
Qualifications:
• Experience teaching discussion-centered classes at the middle or high school.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
• Interest in and demonstrated skill working with adolescents.
