Become a specialist on natural language understanding (NLU) and help build state-of-the-art AI systems!
Project Summary
Your task is to work with Appen’s client to produce high quality natural language data and manage a team of annotators. You will help manage annotation workflows and manage all associated tasks as a member of a multi-language NLU team. Your inputs will be used to develop better natural language understanding systems for Italian.
This is an AI Specialist project. Our team’s mission is to deliver the best data solutions and expertise to developers of AI for communication, driven by our passion for innovation and our love of languages.
Responsibilities
Localize guidelines
Manage workflows
Receive, set up, distribute and deliver data sets
Set up FAQ and Q&A documents
Field annotator questions and monitor chats
Monitor and improve annotation quality
Report task related metrics
Work closely with the NLU team and project manager
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Language Technologies, Computer Sciences, or related field
Interest in practical as well as theoretical linguistics, especially syntax, semantics, and pragmatics
Facility with computers and software applications.
Ability to adapt to changing requirements, priorities, and revisions
Cooperative, solution-oriented attitude
Eagerness to learn new skills and work quickly
Analytic mindset with strong attention to detail
Ability to review examples and apply rules to data
Native speaker of Italian, professional English skill level
Qualifications and Experience
Advanced degree and/or industry experience
Experience working remotely
NLU annotation experience
