Under the general supervision of the Medical Affairs Director, the Medical Affairs Manager contributes his/her technical and scientific knowledge into Marketing and other strategic activities through involvement with different company areas: Marketing, Sales, Training and Development, DPOC System, Regulatory, Public Affairs and Legal, Pharmacovigilance, among others.

The position could be based in Panama or Costa Rica; does not include relocation assistance.

Main responsibilities:

:Ensures the marketing team is kept up to date with new scientific data.

:Detects, complies and analyzes all information on MSD and competitive products, and disease necessary for the Marketing and Sales areas.

:Organizes and attends national and international scientific events (meetings, congress and symposium).

:Cooperates in the organization of scientific meetings, sponsored or fully organized by MSD.

:Contacts and assists foreign and local speakers, as well as local speakers invited by Merck Human Health Division and/or other subsidiaries.

:Responsible for Medical review / approval of promotional material and medical information and communication materials in general according to the company policies and procedures.

:Accountable for coordination of local studies planning and assignments.

:Supports key scientific activities in order to include Merck products into public and private formularies.

:Responds to medical inquiries.

:Responsible for Medical review / approval of training materials.

:Maintains and strengthens a fluent relationship with medical and official teams, at a level of cooperative and scientific interchange.

:Elaborates the Medical Action Plan (MAP) for the assign products align with marketing strategy.Qualifications

Requirements:

:

MD degree with a degree in Internal Medicine. Microbiologist or Infectologist degree, preferred.

:

Experience interpreting scientific information, clinical research data and/or external validity analysis.

:

Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, desirable.

:

Proficiency in Spanish and English, in oral and written.

:

Willing to travel up to 50 of the time.

:

Proficiency in MS Office.

:

Knowledge and/or experience with HEOR (Health Economics/Outcome Research), preferred.

:

Knowledge on pharmaceutical product development, preferred.

:

Knowledge and/or experience with health systems in Central America, Dominican Republic and the Caribbean, preferred.

:

Experience working with the design of clinical research studies, desirable.
