Purpose of the position
The Country Ocean Freight Systems and Processes Manager (SPM) will improve EBIT conversion through:
* Enabling unit cost reduction through reducing cycle times, centralizing processes to reap economies of scale, and reducing personnel and other operational expenditures,
* Driving process standardization and quality
* Maintaining relevant skills in operations through training
* Developing the Business Unit Systems and Processes Super User Team
* Supporting the operation where needed
Key Tasks
Management and Leadership
* Lead the S and P team in the country by managing, coaching, and supporting BU S and P Super Users
* Support CHoOF and Regional S and P in identifying and developing talents in the Country
* Ensure compliance with GDP (Good Distribution Practice) requirements
Process Re:Engineering
Focus on how we add value for customers; eliminate waste and non:value adding activities. Balance productivity and control over profitability.
* Seek opportunities to improve productivity across the OF operational functions (incl. supervisor level)
* Ensure operational processes and organizational setup support strong profitability focus
* Work with CA and C countries to identify requirements and opportunities
* Work with Regional S and P and other Countries to advise, align, and prioritize
* Drive implementation activities into CA and C countries
* Promote and support a culture and discipline of Continuous Improvement
* Coach and support CA and C countries and SPM Super Users as required
Quality and Standardization
Establish and enforce standards that drive quality, eliminate rework, and enable the industrialization of our processes.
* Support regional and corporate SPM in defining and improving process standards that enable quality, efficiency, and economies of scale as well as compliance with global and local regulations relevant for Ocean Freight operations.
* Work with CHoOF and SPM Super Users to drive implementation of process standards
* Establish the methods and tools to monitor adherence to standards and process quality within the country
* Address / escalate sustained deficiencies with CHoOF, and Regional SPM
* Guide and support CA and C countries and SPM Super Users as required
Tools and Enablement
Provide operations with the right tools and enable staff and supervisors to work effectively and efficiently.
* Working closely with CA and C countries and SPM Super Users identify functional improvement opportunities
* Challenge end:users and CA and C countries and SPM Super Users to clearly articulate underlying business requirements across applicable business scenarios and evaluate business impact
* Work with CHoOF and Regional S and P to evaluate and prioritize opportunities
* Produce high quality business specifications
* Drive deployment of tools at country level, coach and support CA and C countries and SPM Super Users as required
Process Automation and Integration
Use smart and innovative IT solutions to automate manual processes; drive integration with business partners (internal and external) to eliminate redundant processing and drive data quality at the source.
* Identify local process automation and business partner integration opportunities and evaluate business impact
* Work with CHoOF and Regional S and P to evaluate and prioritize opportunities
* Drive local implementation, support implementation at Regional and Corporate level as required
* Drive deployment of tools at country level, coach and support CA and C countries and SPM Super Users as required
