Position Summary:

This position is responsible for identifying and implementing philanthropy in the surrounding areas, including but not limited to soliciting gifts from prospective donors; cultivating and managing relationships with current donors; and coordinating regional fundraising and community engagement initiatives with Covenant Foundation system-wide priorities.

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management, or a related field is preferred with one to three years of experience in fundraising, public relations, marketing, or event management in a not-for-profit or healthcare environment. Must be highly organized and have the ability to work within a structured organization. Should be a goal-oriented and self-motivated individual, able to work effectively and productively from a remote site. Reliable transportation, valid state of Florida or Alabama driver’s license, as applicable depending on assignment, and current automobile liability insurance and insurability under the company liability insurance are required.

Reports to: Director of Development, Covenant Care Foundation

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Work with Foundation Director of Development and Vice President to establish annual and campaign/project financial goals and supporting philanthropy and community engagement objectives for the community.

Responsible for achieving or exceeding defined goals and objectives.

Serves as primary staff representative for all activities of the Covenant Care Foundation in the service area.

Plans activities and coordinates all programs in conjunction with volunteer leaders for Annual Giving, Employee Giving, Corporate/Business Giving, Planned Gifts, Special Gifts, and Signature Gifts.

Using personal knowledge of local community and Development Council volunteers, develops, manages, and coordinates prospect lists to be used at each giving level for both individual and corporate donors.

Researches local, regional, and Alabama grant opportunities.

Executes defined strategies for identified priority area prospective and current donors including engaging, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding.

Involves additional Covenant Care Foundation staff, as appropriate, to help solicit and steward major gifts donors and to identify area potential gift naming opportunities.

Works with area clinical staff to train and support connectors for Covenant’s Grateful Patient/Family initiatives, including acquisition of both testimonials/stories and gifts.

Coordinates and manages all area events for Covenant Care Foundation, including third-party events, donor recognition events and community engagement or fundraising events.

Creates story/article copy and donor listings monthly from programs for inclusion in Covenant Care Foundation’s e-newsletter.

Maintains accurate prospect details, donor records, financial reports, gift acknowledgements and other reports as needed by Covenant Care Foundation for service area.

Special Demands/Physical Requirements:

This position may sometimes require light to medium lifting of various small equipment items. The position requires travel in a motor vehicle in connection with performing the essential functions of the position. This position will also require a flexible scheduling, including evening and weekend hours.
