Job description: Purpose The Warehouse Superintendent will be responsible for all day-to-day management, issuing and receiving, and inventory control of all warehouses located at the Minera Panama project. Roles and Responsibilities · Be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day operation of the warehouse · Inventory Control: ensure that accurate inventory levels are maintained, carry out daily cycle counts and weekly physical counts, and investigate and report variations · Ensure that item locations are correctly managed and maintained in order to ensure that items can be efficiently located and issued · Ensure that items are issued in accordance with site procedures, and that all issues are accurately and kept up-to-date in the ERP · Ensure that items are received in accordance with site procedures, that receipt is accurately recorded and kept up to date, and that items are correctly stored and their locations accurately recorded. · Management of warehouse team Working Conditions/Environment Cobre Panamá is a large open-pit copper development project in Panamá. The concession is located 120 kilometres west of Panama City and 20 kilometres from the Caribbean Sea coast, in the district of Donoso, Colon province, in the Republic of Panamá. The Cobre Panamá Project is operated by Minera Panamá S.A. (MPSA), an 80 percent owned subsidiary of First Quantum Minerals Ltd. MPSA was incorporated under the laws of the Republic of Panamá in January 1997 and has a mineral concession to explore and exploit the Cobre Panamá property. The project will commence commissioning in 2018, with material movement expected to reach over 180Mt per annum within 5 years of commissioning. Estimated mine life is 37 years. Access to the project area is via the Pan-American Highway system from Panama City to Penonomé, surfaced all-weather roads to Llano Grande, and past the town of Coclecito. The topography in the concession area is low elevation (less than 300 metres) but rugged with considerable local relief covered by dense rainforest. Climatic conditions are tropical with high precipitation levels, high humidity and relatively high temperatures of 25?C to 30?C year-round. Working Relationships The warehouse supervisor will report to the Commercial Manager. Close working relationships with internal clients requesting stores issues will need to be maintained. Commercial Manager – regular communication with regard to inventory to ensure that levels are both accurate and correct Supply Superintendent – close collaboration with to co-ordinate on materials receiving Warehouse staff – direct supervision of all warehouse staff Safety and Environment · Participate and contribute to safe practice and environmental awareness. · Demonstrate personal commitment in regard to safety and environmental practices. · Identification of potential hazards and action that is appropriately taken. · Maintenance of a high standard of efficiency, safety and effectiveness. · Raising, discussion and resolution of safety issues at regular meetings Skills, Knowledge & Experience Essential · Five years prior experience in warehouse supervision in a comparable environment · Experience of managing inventory and warehouse issues using ERP systems · Proven supervisory skills · Good IT skills · Good communication skills · Strong team player whilst possessing ability to work autonomously · Unquestionable business integrity · Firm commitment to safe work practices Preferred · Experience in a mining or maintenance environment · Good written and spoken Spanish and English · Previous experience of JD Edwards in a warehouse management role · Familiarity with heavy truck and mining equipment parts.
