Job DescriptionTHOR Solutionsis actively seeking aSenior Training Specialistto support the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) group at Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) in Panama City, FL. The Senior Training Specialist should possess experience in planning, execution, and support of training of USN LCAC or similar type vessels. This individual will provide curriculum development, instruction, and training expertise in support of Air Cushion Vehicles (ACVs).
This position may be performed either onsite at NSWC PCD or remotely.
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) is the System Integration Agent and the Test and Trials center for U.S. Navy ACVs. In addition, to the various In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) functions and support, NSWC PCD is tasked with supporting future Seabase connectors and expeditionary ships and craft, both in the platform and technology areas. This Performance Work Statement (PWS) specifies the requirements for a Contractor level of effort to provide ACV crews, SEAOPS support, FMS program support, and engineering and programmatic services for NSWC PCD efforts supporting the design, acquisition, testing, evaluation and production of Seabase connectors such as the: LCAC-1 class; LCAC-100 class (Ship to Shore Connector ((SSC)) acquisition program of record; amphibious warfare ships, and the Expeditionary Transfer Dock (ESD).
The candidate's responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) performing, supporting, or supervising the following actions:
Using SEAOPS manuals, coordinate training curricula changes via coordination with NSWC PCD and Expeditionary Warfare Training Group, Pacific (EWTGPAC).
Modify the curriculum for the Training Community, to ensure that all curricula reflect SEAOPS guidance and procedures.
Assist with validation of SEAOPS, as it relates to training, via cold and hot checks on an operating LCAC.
Provide technical assistance to the Fleet when required by craft changes. This may include travel to the ACU 4, ACU 5, & NBU-7 to conduct classroom and/or on-craft training; presentation preparation, classroom materials; lesson developments; out briefings and curriculum development.
Partake in development and execution of training for FMS projects and platforms.
Update the Instructional Performance Requirements Documents (IPRD) to reflect craft changes. Review the IPRD with the ISEA to ensure that all portions of Maintainer Training curriculum are being put in place for fleet usage. Update the current Maintainer Training courses with changes that integrate new development and approved design changes, alteration installations, integrated software updates of Command, Control, Communications, Computer and Navigation (C4N) system changes.
Instruct the Maintainer Training courses of instruction at ACU-4 and ACU-5 after the completion of approved design changes and/or software updates changes to ensure fleet users understand the scope of changes that have occurred.
Upon completion of course of instruction, update the curriculum with fleet user inputs and make a final delivery of Maintainer Training courses.
Security Clearance Requirements:
Must currently possess an active or interim SECRET security clearance, and be able to maintain it for the duration of employment.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements:
A high school diploma/GED equivalent or relevant U.S. Navy "A" or "C" school.
At least nine (9) years of experience in the planning, execution, and support of training of U.S. Navy LCAC or similar type vessels.Experience providing training support directly for legacy LCAC 1 or LCAC 100 is highly preferred.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
An ideal candidate will additionally possess some or all of the following qualifications, in addition to the basic qualifications above:
Experience developing updates to training as a result of engineering, logistics, or operational changes on a fielded platform.
Experience operating as an LCAC Navigator, Assistant Craftmaster, or Craftmaster preferably within the previous 5 years.
Anticipated Travel:
Approximately 0-10% travel anticipated.
Typical Physical Activity:
This position's essential functions typically include (but are not limited to): fingering/typing, hearing, sitting, standing, talking, and vision.
