This position is responsible for all aspects of general accounting, analysis and reporting for Grainger US and various affiliates. This role is based in Grainger’s shared services office in Panama Pacifico.
Ensure that all monthly, quarterly and annual close and audit activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure journal entries, account reconciliations and reporting are completed appropriately.
Prepare balance sheet and income statement variance analysis in Blackline on a monthly basis.
Understand end to end processes to ensure GL impacts are accurate, complete and timely.
Monitor and govern all assigned accounts to detect unusual/unexpected activity.
Partner with HR and third party firms to ensure monthly payroll and benefit information is accurately and completely entered and accounted for in the GL.
Partner with US business partners and 3rd party firms to resolve account variances.
Take appropriate steps to safeguard company assets and ensure that all financial books and records are maintained in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
Ensure critical risks associated with assigned areas are mitigated by controls that are designed and operating effectively.
Evaluate continuous improvement opportunities and implement initiatives as needed to streamline and enhance processes and reduce costs.
Establish and maintain close working relationships with all internal and external business partners.
Willing to accept new and additional challenges as business needs change.

Requisitos
Must be fluent in both English and Spanish
CPA or equivalent required
MBA degree would be a plus
Multinational company experience preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in public accounting, internal audit or related large corporate accounting/finance experience required
Strong knowledge of GAAP is required
Should possess good analytical skills and have the ability to recognize and explain unusual trends/results
Strong financial statements acumen, including understanding of interconnectivity between P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flows
Good verbal and written communication skills
Self-starter, able to work independently, solve problems and achieve results working with cross-functional teams
Ability to handle pressure and stress appropriately while managing conflicting priorities
Strong inter-personal skills are critical as this position requires extensive interaction with individuals at various levels across the organization
Good PC skills with an emphasis on spreadsheets are necessary Advanced Excel skills are preferred including pivot table and vlookup functionality understanding
Attention to details, control/audit mindset and high degree of accuracy
Ability to work under tight time constraints with zero tolerance for missed deadlines
Must be able to shift focus easily and draw conclusions timely as business needs arise
SAP software experience preferred
