Job description:
Purpose
The Contracts Goods Supervisor will provide support to the Supply Chain Department - Contracts Area, in the organization, direction, and supervision of the Contracts Officers activities; regarding to planning, formation and administration of the goods supply contracts required for the sustainability of the Cobre Panama Mine operation.
Key Accountabilities and Challenges
Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama, Company’s policies and guidelines and in particular the Contracts area procedures and the Company Local Procurement Policy.
Responsible to organize, provide direction and supervision to the assigned team of Contracts Officers in order to accomplish the work objectives.
Liaison with the Company Procurement and Category Management team in order to coordinate the execution of the goods supply contracts planning, formation and administration.
Lead and execute major sourcing process; including the pre and post award activities.
Carry out the daily monitoring of the Contracts Officer performance and provide constructive feedback and mentoring.
Provide expert advice to the Contracts Officers team related to specialized topics: e.g. sourcing strategies, negotiations, Contractor performance monitoring, risk management and claims management.
Anticipate and escalate to Contracts Superintendent the critical issues with the Supplier in order to avoid potential conflicts.
Carry out technical review of the Contract Officer’s deliverables i.e. contract documents, communications with contractors, proposals evaluations, among others deliverables related to the Contracts Management.
Provide support, guidance and mentoring to internal stakeholders regarding contracts guidelines, practices and processes, Local Procurement Policy, commercial and legal terms, insurance and risk related issues.
Ensure the use of the appropriate Company's standard contract template to prepare and issue the goods supply contracts and their amendments. Support to the Contract Officers in the negotiation of the contract terms.
Carry out a critical evaluation of the Goods supply contract requests or contracts in execution in order to identify synergies and cost reduction opportunities for negotiation purposes.
Control, report and reduce operational costs, and ensure cost consideration taken with all decisions
Assure early internal and external key stakeholder engagement and their buy in, during the sourcing process and even during the commercial contract management stage.
Maintain HSE standards and ensure strict compliance.
Implement FQM Way culture in the Contracts team - "Bolder, Smarter, Driven, Together."
Perform any other duties as assigned by Contracts Superintendent.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Education
Master in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement or related field.
Degree in Industrial Engineer, Businness, Economics or Legal
Specialization in Contracts Management, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management or Supply Chain Management is preferred
Skills
Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ability to work in a "team" environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain self-discipline within a stressful environment.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
Experience
A minimum of three to five years prior procurement and contracting management experience providing support to operations as part of a Supply Chain team in comparable environment (mining or industrial sector).
Previous experience of JD Edwards in Procurement & Contracts or similar ERP
Language
Fluency in English (written and spoken) and is required and proficiency in Spanish highly regarded. A willingness to undertake language training desirable.

Working Conditions
Cobre Panama is a remote site and the position is offered to be located on Cobre Panama Site, however due to the current COVID-19 conditions, the personnel will be allowed to work from home in “tele trabajo” scheme or at the Company’s office in Panama City o Penonome City as per Contracts Superintendent instructions, which can vary from time to time.
