Job description: Purpose Reporting to the Logistics Superintendent, the Supervisor of Logistics is responsible for managing and controlling the site’s fuel supply function. This includes overall accountability and contractor management of the fuel provider, the site fuel storage and transfer system, fuel transportation and supply chain systems related to fuel logistics. Key Accountabilities and Challenges Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama. Maintain HSE standards and ensure strict compliance within the section. Ensure a very high standard of housekeeping within the section, Adhere to all FQM Cobre Panama policies and procedures. Create and implement standard operation procedures (SOP’s) for fuel logistics business processes across the Site. Supervise and manage the fuel supplier and transport service provider performance, including management of stockholding and stock turn. Oversee, monitor and control all parameters to achieve the main KPI of adequate, reliable supply of fuel on Site. Parameters will include, but are not limited to: Fuel transportation (national) to meet demands. Continuous monitoring of site fuel stock levels. Fuel demand planning. Wetstock tracking. Reconciliation, resolution and management of invoices and deliveries. Supplier evaluation & performance excellence (3PL’s). Overseeing monthly invoice process and procedures per customer. Contractor management. Ensuring all necessary statutory compliance and SHEQ is maintained. External and internal stakeholder alignment and relationship management. Fuel Logistics business process optimisation. Understand the impacts of decisions (supply, quality, cost & risk) to constantly deliver optimum business solutions. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Logistics Superintendent. Skills, Knowledge & Experience Education Bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferred. Skills Highly developed communication and negotiating skills. Problem solving, decision making and analytical skills. Strong ability to work in a "team" environment while possessing the ability to work autonomously. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain self-discipline within a stressful environment. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. Experience At least 5 years’ experience in logistics and supply chain roles or in a similar position. Familiarity with the fuel (or similar) industry exposure would also be advantageous. Familiarity with practices, processes and procedures throughout the supply chain. Knowledge of supervisory practices, principles and techniques. Knowledge of administrative practices and personnel management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Previous mine site experience highly regarded. Language Good verbal and written language skills in Spanish and English are highly regarded allowing reporting and negotiation in both languages. Behaviours High work standards.
