Job description:
Purpose
Reporting to the Coordinator Auto Electrical, the Supervisor Auto Electrical is accountable for the effective and efficient management, maintenance and safe operation of the equipment and personnel in the Auto electrical section of Mobile Fleet Maintenance.
Key Accountabilities and Challenges
Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama.
Develop standard safe working procedures and actively participate in HSE initiatives.
Ensures and adheres to all relevant safety regulations that apply on site.
Identify, eliminate, mitigate and/or control any breach in electrical safety conditions.
Use electrical safe work Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best industry practices.
Use industry best practices for Lock Out Tag Out safe procedures;
Oversee and lead a team of auto electricians (12-24V) to consistently deliver and exceed the main KPIs of timely maintenance and repairs using best practice maintenance techniques and procedures on all auto electrical systems to ensure equipment downtime is minimised and performance optimized.
Undertake daily corrective actions through formal workplace inspections.
Supervise and participate in planned and breakdown maintenance plans on all auto electrical (12-24v) systems.
Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance plans are executed according to the work plan
Lead and direct the personnel in the execution of daily work activities ensuring compliance of all safety practices.
Manage daily workload priorities based on equipment and production requirements.
Ensure work orders compliance for all activities undertaken by the team.
Prepare and maintain daily records and reports regarding work performed including detailed analysis of equipment condition and recommendations on continued operation hazards and risks.
Continuously analyse equipment efficiencies to recommend and implement improvements and changes to improve operations.
Read and understand electrical drawings, schematics, single line diagrams, and any other vendor supplied technical information, included but not limited to installation, operation and maintenance manuals.
Prepare detailed estimates including labor and materials, and prepares lists of materials for improvement projects.
Prepares and maintains records and paperwork regarding work performed.
Transmit and explain work orders; revise material needs or modifications to assigned work due to material delays or other problems.
Order parts and recover from onsite warehouses.
Identify team members have relevant training, competency and authority prior to undertaking activities.
Monitor team development and training programs, particularly skills transfer and coaching within the team to ensure required competencies and behaviours.
Monitor manning levels to deliver operational requirements and instructions by supervising the attendance, location and activity of team members.
Fosters 'team environment’ across the personnel.
Conduct regular performance feedback with team members to promote improvement and follow up.
Track and report continuous improvement activities.
Execute the work plan focused in control, report and reduce operational costs.
Support FQM Way culture across the team - "Smarter, Bolder, Driven, Together."
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Education
Completion of secondary school with Auto electrician certification from a recognised institute.
Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent cognitive and analytical skills for identifying maintenance corrective and preventative actions.
Proven ability to identify, analyse and understand auto electrical requirements.
Strong understanding of maintenance improvement and control strategies.
Strong understanding of maintenance strategies for large-scale, continuous operating mining operation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to analyze data and provide clear and accurate reports in both an upward and downward direction.
Computer fluency is a must.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Experience
5 years of experience in auto electrical (12-24v) work including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
Minimum 2 years workshop experience.
Excellent knowledge and experience of Automotive Air conditioning system repairs and maintenance.
Language
Fluency in Spanish is required and proficiency in English highly regarded.
