We are looking for Technical Supervisor to join in our Site Services team at Cobre Panama.
Key Accountabilities and Challenges
Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama.
Through personal leadership and setting clear expectations maintain an emphasis on safety, environmental and operational responsibility
Provide technical support to the local supervisors to ensure delivery of the maintenance program, planned and unplanned
Provide assistance with supervising work to maintain quality, timeliness and the effective use of maintenance resources
Provide mentoring to the local supervisors with leadership and people management requirements to enable the team to succeed in delivering the maintenance service
Provide coaching of all maintenance technicians within the team to enable efficient repairs to be completed to the standard of workmanship that is expected
Identify training needs within the team and assist with on the job training to increase the technical competencies of the team
Work with the maintenance superintendent to achieve succession planning development for all employees
Provide guidance and input to develop internal procedures, safe work procedures and standard work practices
Deliver internal auditing programs to assist with improving the tactical maintenance teams performance and identify development opportunities
Promoting a culture to ensure full compliance with all applicable safety standards.
Promoting a positive environment, teamwork and achievement of objectives.
Identify and promote continuous improvement
Implement FQM Way culture across the team – “Smarter, Bolder, Driven, Together”.
Liaising with peers and colleagues to enable the above.
Know and comply with the Safety and Occupational Health Regulations in Mining, Internal Work Rules, Code of Ethics and Conduct, Loss Prevention Manual.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Education
A Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering and/or related Trade Certificate.
Skills
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Leadership, skill to motivate and mentor work crew members to achieve results.
Knowledge and technical skills in maintenance, repair and diagnosis of Tactical Equipment to mining industry, such as large cranes, articulated dump trucks, excavators, dozer, wheel loaders, service trucks, forklifts, light vehicle, generators, air compressors.
Knowledge and technical skills in troubleshooting of engine and power train system.
Knowledge and technical skills in troubleshooting of hydraulic and electrical systems, reading and interpretation of schematic diagram.
Knowledge and skills in the use technology tools for diagnosis and troubleshooting of the equipment.
Knowledge in maintenance management tires and welding.
Knowledge of working planning and scheduling, equipment availability and preventative maintenance processes
Skill to understand and analyse maintenance performance indicators (KPIs).
Knowledge in management of information systems (ERP).
Ability to work in teams and conflict management
Driver's license.
Experience
5+ years previous experience in a leadership/supervisor role within Mobile Equipment; general labour to technical roles
Knowledge of JD Edwards or other enterprise systems.
Experienced in the use of maintenance management systems.
Language
English and Spanish highly regarded.
