Key Responsibilities:
Ensure Health and safety procedures are established and implemented for all activities under his/her supervision
Develop standing operating procedures (SOP) and safe work practices for the earth works under his/her supervision
Participate to the commissioning and ramp up planning efforts.
Train and transfer skills to supervisors and operators
Coordinate equipment and operator allocation to support dam construction activities according to priorities as per schedule
Coordinate pipeline relocation for tailings, sand and slime deposition in accordance with Deposition Plan and Sand Cell construction schedule
Implement aspects of the operation, maintenance and surveillance outlined in the OMS manual relevant to the area under your supervision
Understand, communicate and meet production targets
Compile all required reporting including daily, weekly and monthly monitoring reports.
Contribute to the risk identification workshops
Contribute to optimization initiatives
Oversee the operations of the runoff and seepage collection system
Enter and approve material requisition in JDE Oracle ERP system
To be successful in this role you will require:
15+ years in supervisory role.
Specific experience in construction of Sand Dams using cyclone tailings.
Familiar with mining operations in general
Previous experience in tailings deposition, pipeline management and earth works construction projects
Ability to identify key risks and implement effective management strategies.
Autonomous
Strong leadership and initiative capabilities
Strong problem solving and organizational skills is a must.
Previous extended tours of work in camp/remote access locations or experience as a field contractor highly preferred.
Functional Spanish is an Asset
