Our comprehensive and engaging educational program is dedicated to fostering innovative, intellectual growth. Balboa Academy is located in the City of Knowledge, Ciudad del Saber, Clayton, Panama City, Republic of Panama. The school is comprised of four air-conditioned buildings, one each for our Pre-school/High School, Elementary School, and Middle School. The fourth building is our Athletics Building which includes our gymnasium, Physical Education facilities, and Dragon's Den. Additionally, our campus has athletic fields and recreational areas with playground equipment. We have over 80 classrooms and our campus includes media centers, computer labs, science labs, and multipurpose rooms. In addition to our facilities, we also have access to the Kiwanis Sports Complex which includes baseball, football, and soccer fields, tennis courts, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a gymnasium, an auditorium, and physical fitness areas adjacent to our campus. The drama teacher is responsible for inspiring and guiding students in the exploration of theatrical arts and performance techniques. Through creative instruction and experiential learning opportunities, the drama teacher cultivates students' artistic expression, confidence, and collaborative skills.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and implement comprehensive drama curriculum aligned with educational standards and learning objectives. Plan and facilitate engaging drama lessons, workshops, and rehearsals that foster students' creativity, self-expression, and performance abilities. Introduce students to various theatrical genres, styles, and techniques, including acting, improvisation, voice, movement, and stagecraft. Direct and oversee school productions, ensuring a high standard of artistic quality and professionalism. Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to enhance their acting skills, character development, and stage presence. Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to take creative risks and collaborate with their peers. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community members to showcase student performances and celebrate achievements in drama education. Stay informed about current trends and developments in theater arts education, incorporating innovative approaches and resources into teaching practices. Organize and participate in extracurricular activities, such as drama clubs, festivals, and competitions, to enrich students' theatrical experiences. Uphold high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct, serving as a positive role model for students and adhering to school policies and procedures. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: Bachelor's degree in Drama, Performing Arts, or a related field.
