Job description: Purpose Reporting to the Lead Control System Engineer, the C&I Engineer is tasked to undertake day to day control system maintenance, optimization, and continuous improvement related activities, covering multiple areas of the process plant. The discipline responsibility starts within the Control system configuration and extends into the field Remote IO panels. Key Accountabilities and Challenges · Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama. · Adherence to standard safe working procedures and actively participate in HSE initiatives. · Undertake work in compliance with H&S (e.g. isolation, lock out and tag out), quality and environmental standards and procedures. · Develop relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) · Ensure work is executed using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) · Employ best practise maintenance techniques and procedures for the optimization and calibration of process control equipment. · Support Engineering and Operational teams with diagnostic information. · Execute daily corrective actions through formal workplace inspections. · Execute daily tasks as planned and directed. · Support and develop Trainee Engineers. · Monitor, evaluate and identify an opportunity for systems improvement and execute in project format. · Ensure housekeeping standards in all designated work areas. · Prepare and present a quarterly progress report to the Superintendent and Engineering Manager. · Promote a positive environment ensuring a continuation of a solid working relationship with the C&I team. · Implement FQM Way culture within the business – “Smarter, Bolder, Driven, Together”. · Act as deputy for colleagues as required. · Perform any other duties as assigned by the Lead Control System Engineer. Skills, Knowledge & Experience · Education · Bachelor's degree, National/Higher/Advanced Diploma in instrumentation, electronics, computer science, electrical engineering light current or mechatronics. · Skills · Strong motivational, communication, and interpersonal skills. · Excellent cognitive and analytical skills for identifying maintenance shortfalls and equipment bottlenecks and propose solutions to problem solve. · Proven ability to identify, analyse and understand equipment requirements. · Strong understanding of maintenance process improvement and control strategies. · Basic understanding of technical, production and maintenance strategies for large-scale, continuous operating mineral processing plants. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to analyze data and provide clear and accurate equipment performance reports. · Computer fluency is a must. · Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. · Experience · Experience in the field shall be beneficial however not a requirement. · Motivation to work in the industrial automation, control and instrumentation field highly regarded. · Language Fluency in Spanish and competency in English highly regarded.
