Purpose of the position
Act as the Tender Management process leader, centralizing the RFI / RFP/ RFQ responses for Central America and Caribbean Cluster. He / she is in charge of 2 key processes:
1. Develops and supports development of competitive, customer:centric proposals enabling profitable business wins for Central America and Caribbean Cluster
2. Provides RFI / RFP/ RFQ related information/data requested by Bid Owners, Product, Industry Vertical and Tender Management
Key Tasks
* Lead RFI / RFP/ RFQ requests in Central America and Caribbean Cluster
* Ensure compliance with Global Tender Management process
* Actively participate in the analysis and distribution of tasks to internal stakeholders
* Develop RFI / RFP/ RFQ business proposals for Panalpina customers
* Develop and maintain in:house pricing knowledge:
* :Have a set local charges tariff for tenders by country and mode
* :Have a tiered approach based on volume for local charges and main freight
* :Market intelligence on competitors pricing, capabilities, products and services
* :Have a profit margin agreement based on volumes by country and mode
* Maintain monthly RFI / RFP/ RFQ records and follow up on progress of submitted tenders
* Interface with other functions (IT, Legal, Security, Product etc.) as well as with customers in creating/delivering RFI / RFP/ RFQ responses
* Ensure post bid analysis and register of success / not success key factors

* Functional and operational know:how on global forwarding
* Deep understanding of PA (strategy and products)
* Deep market knowledge (customers, air and ocean freight rates/services)

* Supply Chain and Logistics knowledge would be seen as an asset

Educational background / Work experience
* Higher educational level (degree business administration, economics, logistics)
* Relevant working experience (minimum 3 years)
* Industry experience (minimum 3 years)
Language skills
* English and local language
Computer Literacy
* Profound knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (xls, doc, ppt and others)
* Knowledge of SAP and CRM is of advantage:ul
