As the Depot/Rolling Stock Project Engineer for Panama Metro Line 3 Project, you will be part of a highly experienced team and you will part of the team responsible for the implementation of the Rolling Stock and Depot Equipment for the Monorail System for Panama L3 Monorail System in full compliance with the project specification.
Responsible for overseeing and performing electrical and mechanical engineering and related activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion and warranty period. Coordinate tasks with team members and external parties to ensure timely project completion. The position will involve direct supervision of staff engineers, technicians, QA staff, assembly staff and shop/field technicians. This is primarily a project on site position with occasional international travel required.
Her/his duties are listed but not limited within the list below:
a) Study project design specifications, customer requests and standards of performance.
b) Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering tasks
c) Monitor compliance to applicable national codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications of the project
d) Interact daily with the client to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field. Obtain non objection from client for project execution.
e) Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
f) Resolve any issues that arise and coordinate team activities to maintain approved schedule.
g) Perform the function of field engineer including hands on field work and/or field engineering, supervision of subcontractors, review of daily work production reports. Inspect work of company staff and subcontractors.
h) Properly document all activities
i) Adhere to establish budget and aid in contractor contract administration.
j) Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
k) Communicate and report on project development with Japanese team.
l) Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
m) Provide the client with an explanation on project deliverables.
n) Develop and implement training programs for maintenance personnel and operations staff.
o) Interface with the other relevant technologies.
a) JTIA engineer license
b) Intermediate MS Office skills
c) Knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD
d) Familiarity with rules, regulations, national and international standards
e) Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
f) Decision making ability and leadership skills
g) Time management and organization skills
h) English oral and written communication skills
i) BS degree in Electromechanical Engineering
j) Railway system experience is a plus
