AECOM is actively seeking an experienced, creative, highly talented Environmental Engineer for immediate employment in the Panama City, Panama office. Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Performs assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out Environmental Assessments
Exercises judgment limited to developing proposals, reports, and environmental analysis
Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities
Works with multi-disciplinary teams in undertaking baseline data and sample collection programs and impact analysis
Assists with field work and report writing
Works under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Responsible for oversight of field investigation and monitoring programs
Assists various sized environmental assessments (EIA, DD, Phase I, Phase II) and related ecological management and planning projects, for diverse industry sectors
Responsible for summary and analysis/interpretation
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or other related engineering field required
5+ years of experience perform field environmental and reporting (Master Degree may replace experience)
Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
Strong skills in written and spoken communication
Organization and time management skill
Flexibility to work on a diversity of technical projects, a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative
Previous work experience in Environment projects (impact analysis and permitting)
Languages: Bilingual (Fluent Spanish and English)
Certified EIA Consultant and /or Auditor by Local Authority a plus
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in civil, environmental, chemical or related engineering field
Attention to detail, high quality and accuracy in work performed
Ability to write well, distill supporting information in the scientific literature, communicate technical issues to a wide range of readers
Strong analytical and computational abilities
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and technical report writing
Highly motivated and capable of working effectively in a team environment
